gr\u00f6\u00dfte Baum Neuseelands und angeblich der 5. gr\u00f6\u00dfte der S\u00fcdhalbkugel. Der Baum selbst erzeugt ein \u00d6kosystem mit \u00fcber 100 Tier- und Pflanzenarten. Nicht nur der Wipfel ist riesig; die Wurzeln sollen bis in eine Tiefe von 5 Metern gehen und den Umkreis des Wipfels deutlich \u00fcberbieten. Und der Kauribaum w\u00e4chst nicht nur in die H\u00f6he, sondern er dreht sich auch, um sich besser gegen Wind zu wappnen.
